Is Virtual Harbormaster properly insured?

    Yes, we carry insurance that meets or exceeds the requirements of the marinas we serve.  We have provided the documentation to the marina offices and we follow the marina policies for marine service providers.

Do you work on sailboats, power boats or both?

    Our customers own power boats and sail boats.  Most all of the services we provide would be of value to the owners regardless of which type of boat they own.

What marinas do you work in?

    We currently are working in Watergate and South Shore Harbor.  We have also worked in Waterford.  We will work in any marina on the Galveston Bay area from Baytown to Galveston and all points in between.

Do you offer any references as to your work?

    We do have references.  Personal references, business references and customer references.  Customer references may be viewed on this web site on the  Testimonials  page.  Business and personal references are available by written request.

What kind of owners use your Personal Harbormaster Service?

    The owners have different reasons for using the service.  Some owners live too far from their boat to make quick inspection trips practical and yet they know the importance of making these inspections.  Shore power turned off for a couple of days can often permanently damage batteries.  Loose canvas can be shredded in a blow.  Dock lines sometimes need adjustments as water levels rise and fall.  Bilge water levels may be rising.  There are a lot of little things that can go wrong if a boat is left alone for long periods.  Other owners may live close by but may not have the time or desire to put into the inspection and maintenance issues of boat ownership.

What is the difference between Personal Harbormaster and Harbormaster Plus Service?

    Harbormaster Plus Service includes the features of Personal Harbormaster but adds one monthly inspection of the boats important systems.  A detailed checklist is completed on the monthly inspection which includes running the engines and generators, exercising through hulls, cleaning intake water strainers for engines and air conditioning systems and more.  Please go to  Harbormaster Plus for complete details.

Do I have to make a long term commitment when I sign up for Personal Harbormaster Service?
    Personal Harbormaster Service or Harbormaster Plus do not require any length of time commitment.  We have had some customers on these programs for years and some for only a month or two while they were away on vacation or business.  We also offer an "Off Season" special to service owners that have other interests during the winter months and want their boats taken care of without requiring any of their time.  When spring comes around, the boat will be ready for them.

Can I choose the day of the week my boat is serviced?
    You can choose the day of the week your boat is serviced.  We will certainly do everything we can to honor the wishes of our customers.  The time of day we serve the boat will be dependent on what else we have on our calendar for the day.

    No, anyone can purchase our services.  We welcome new customers interested in any of our services.

What form of payment do customers use?
    We are a registered Paypal company.  Paypal is the worlds largest online payment system.  Paypal is owned by ebay.  For the convenience and speed the service offers, this is our preferred method of payment.  If a customer has any issues with online payment systems, we would certainly work with them to set up a mutually agreeable payment method.

    The rates for the basic services are available on the  Fees page of the web site.  Rates for specific jobs and special offers will be available on the pages that describe the service.
